Outreach Strategies for Primary Pressure Initiative (PPI)
Author: Theresa Yarbrough

To maximize impact, PPI needs a multi-channel outreach strategy that engages voters, hemp businesses, and advocacy groups. Here’s how we can take this movement to the next level:

1️⃣ Direct Voter Engagement

District-Specific Canvassing – Organize local volunteers to visit key districts, educating voters about anti-hemp legislators and pro-hemp primary challengers.

Town Halls & Forums – Host public discussions featuring hemp business owners, farmers, and industry experts, pressuring legislators in person.

Petition Drives – Collect signatures from local businesses and consumers demanding legislative action to protect hemp.

2️⃣ Media & Public Pressure

Press Releases & Opinion Pieces – Publish articles highlighting anti-hemp legislation, exposing lawmakers before the primary election.

Social Media Blitz – Launch targeted digital campaigns with graphics, videos, and infographics explaining why certain legislators must be replaced.

Influencer & Business Partnerships – Work with industry leaders, cannabis advocates, and local influencers to amplify PPI’s message.

3️⃣ Political Mobilization & Primary Disruption

✔ Legislator Scorecards – Rank lawmakers based on their support or opposition to hemp, making their record visible to voters.

Candidate Endorsements – Identify and back pro-hemp challengers who will fight for fair policies in the primaries.

✔ District Takeovers – Organize protests, rallies, and public actions in anti-hemp legislators’ districts, forcing them to address the issue.

4️⃣ Industry Collaboration & Business Mobilization

✔ Hemp Business Coalition – Unite store owners, farmers, and manufacturers to lobby legislators as a powerful economic force.

Policy Workshops – Educate hemp businesses on how specific laws impact them, giving them tools to fight back

Fundraising for Pro-Hemp Campaigns – Support challengers through financial contributions, events, and direct grassroots funding.

✔ No More Empty Promises. No More Performative Advocacy. Legislators Must Choose.

Let’s mobilize this movement for real electoral change! It’s time to apply pressure.
